Artist Statement
Sometimes you just have to make your move. When I create my artworks, I often find myself hesitating to make my next brush stroke; and that’s okay. I sit there questioning what makes something so appealing to look at? Sometimes you can never remove a mistake and it creates a certain beauty in all forms of art. Perhaps what really matters is making the decision to actually make that next brush stroke or not.
The more I continue to ask questions, the more I find art interwoven to all aspects of life. To that degree, I truly believe in the importance of art not only as a discipline, but also as a way of understanding. A way of life that can recognize the beauty in positive as well as negative. One that opens up new ideas by remembering to take a moment to step back.
